PART-TIME COOK
17.5 hours per week over 5 days, usually Tuesday to Saturday10.00am to 2.00pm, with a half-hour unpaid break£11,466.00 per annum
Rumbletums is a community café providing training and work experience for young
people with learning disabilities.
The training is based primarily in our café and trainees undertake a range of ‘Front of
House’ and kitchen duties and other related activities that enable them to develop
specific and transferable skills relevant to the catering industry, plus communication
and life skills, as well as greater self-esteem and confidence.
The Cook will work as part of the team in the busy breakfast and lunchtime service,
ensuring high quality food is produced at all times and that all food hygiene standards
are maintained. The Cook will also support the young people undertaking training
placements within the café.
We’re looking for someone with experience, skill and enthusiasm for baking, cooking
and food preparation in general and ideally, experience of working and cooking in a
kitchen, such as a restaurant, café, school or staff canteen. A positive attitude
towards, and a desire to work with and support, people with a learning disability and
an understanding of the range of issues they may face, is also required.
