Training Portfolio 2Rumbletums Café is a supported training project for young people with a learning disability, some of whom may also have an additional physical disability.

The project offers non-accredited training and work experience opportunities to young people aged between 16 and 30. We are committed to establishing an environment with an appropriate level of support to enable young people to make their own valued contribution to the organisation and to reach their individual potential.

Our aim is to provide training, work experience and opportunities to develop life skills for these young people in order to increase their confidence, enhance their vocational skills and abilities. This will then contribute to their future potential for employment, further training and independent living.

Trainees gain experience in a wide range of activities, including cooking, serving food and drinks, cash handling, time management, using the washing machine, dishwasher, airing and folding laundry, shopping in the local community and also have the opportunity to meet people and become part of working team.

We have more than 20 young people who are undertaking training and work experience with Rumbletums alongside the staff and volunteers.

If you’d like to find out more information, please get in touch using enquiry form on the ‘Contact Us’ page.

The trainees have attended workshops such as an interview workshop day at Rumbletums enhancing their skills for future job prospects, as can be seen in the video below.

If you are a parent or carer of a young person who might like to join us (or if you would just like to know more about what we do) then please get in touch with us using the Contact Us page.
